Observe and Document Wildlife

Explore the Foothills and document the species you see. Take pictures or draw the species, and note their habits and characteristics. If you spot a rare species, it can change the entire outcome of this development...so this role is crucial! Expected hours: 1-2 hours per week.
It’s NESTING SEASON and the animals need YOU to help protect them! Did you know there are 46 sensitive species at San Marcos Foothills? Any grading, trenching, or other construction activity must not impact nesting season. We need YOU to help document what you observe. How many can you see? Visit Wildlife Gallery
There are 19 different species of sensitive birds found here! Check out the following documents:
Please do not get close to nests or disturb wildlife. Stay on trails. Bring your field guide or app and binoculars!
