SSMF is a group of local women committed to protecting one of our county's last native grasslands from development. We wholeheartedly believe in the preservation of sacred lands. We find the San Marcos Foothills to be a place to educate our children, to meditate deeply in a serene landscape, to connect with the land, and to understand ourselves better as humans. We are deeply concerned about the adverse effects development would have on this delicate habitat and our community's well-being. We formed SSMF, unincorporated association in the Fall of 2020 to dedicate ourselves to the protection and permanent preservation of this threatened undeveloped open space.
